Casa Mia School Code of Conduct

Casa Mia Montessori School is committed to providing a child safe school environment. The environment will safe guard all the students and is committed to promoting practices which provide for the safety, wellbeing and welfare of the children enrolled at the school. Casa Mia Montessori School expects all school community members including the School Board, The Parents and Friends, staff, volunteers, students, visitors and contractors to share this commitment.

All staff at Casa Mia Montessori School (including teachers, education assistants, administrators and interns) have a current Working with Children and also sign the School Code of Conduct. Casa Mia Montessori School ensures that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in relations to standards of behaviour, care of children and the current requirements of the law in Western Australia.

All employees of Casa Mia must comply with this code. Regular volunteers, infrequent volunteers, visitors and contractors are also expected to comply with this Code.

Staff who are responsible for engaging or managing volunteers, contractors or external consultants must ensure these individuals/persons are aware of the School’s expectations of conduct consistent with the School’s Code of Conduct during the period of their engagement. Any conduct that is not consistent with the Code may result in the engagement of a volunteer, contractor or consultant being terminated and/or significant concerns reported to the police.

In this context, volunteers both regular and intermittent, visitors and contractors will be held accountable for breaches of the Code.
