Testimonials of happy parents
My son graduated from Casa Mia Montessori Community School last year and has now began his high school journey. I have always loved Casa Mia - the small school atmosphere and feeling of community; the kindness, respect and education children receive there. It is only this year though, that I can fully appreciate the quality of the well-rounded education my son received there. He is confident, independent, responsible, capable and has entered his first year of high school with absolute ease. I shouldn’t be surprised though, a Montessori education has been preparing him for this next level of independence from the age of 3.At Casa Mia the children learn to work independently and take agency in their learning. They are self-motivated (not reward driven) and considerate of others. They are able to be themselves at school as their individuality is nurtured and respected, and as a result they grow to be young adults who are comfortable in their own skin. The social learning environment a Montessori classroom provides has enabled my son to establish friendships with peers and teachers effortlessly, be a natural collaborator and have the confidence to jump in and get involved with all the fantastic opportunities high school presents. He understands his social responsibilities and the importance of being an ethical global citizen. My 10 year old daughter attends Casa Mia and is dyslexic. I didn’t know much about dyslexia when we discovered her learning difference, but the more research I do, the more I realise that a Montessori school is ideal for her learning style. Firstly, there is absolute respect for each child in a Montessori classroom regardless of their strengths and weaknesses - everyone is equal, so self-esteem is kept intact and children feel happy and safe at school. It helps that a Montessori classroom is non-competitive, each child is on their own journey. Secondly, learning is hands-on, kinaesthetic and multi-sensorial in the early years - which is perfect for the dyslexic child (any child!). Casa Mia has a fantastic SPELD tutor who attends the school once a week to help dyslexic students with explicit literacy instruction using SPELD approved programs. The small class sizes means that teachers can provide more individualised attention where required.I really can’t thank Casa Mia Montessori Community School enough for their contribution to my children’s education and well being. I highly recommend the school and it’s inclusive community to any prospective families. Shane
"Our daughter has attended Casa Mia Montessori Community School since she was three years old and will graduate in 2017. One of the most amazing things we feel this school has instilled in our daughter is her love of learning and her love of wanting to attend school every day. She was recently accepted into a High School that required her to start in Year 6 and she was so disappointed in the prospect of not graduating from Casa Mia that we subsequently declined that position.
We can only attribute this passion to the wonderful teachers and staff of the school, and in particular our daughter's current teacher - Marta. The development in our daughter while at Casa Mia has been outstanding and the life and education skills she has learnt there have created a foundation that will help her in all her future endeavours.
We would recommend Casa Mia to any parent looking to provide a holistic approach to education for their child or children. In addition, we feel the future expansion plans will only improve this experience for new students.
Thanks again to all the past and present teachers and staff." Mark and Michelle
‘I learnt how to be really independent, respectful and honest. I was taught about honor, courage, wisdom and determination.’ Emily
Our family have been involved in Montessori education for a number of years. My wife attended Kingsley Montessori just after it opened & then our daughter attended the same school as a second generation student. Since then we relocated & transferred our daughter to Casa Mia Montessori where we found a school which promotes a community spirit. The ways in which this is achieved is through a parent run executive committee & general committee, busy bees, open days, fundraising events, parent coffee mornings, parent education evenings etc. Currently there are approx 40+ students which also enhances the community feel of the school. The staff are all friendly & very helpful with any questions you may have. We highly recommend Casa Mia Montessori to any parents looking at an alternative to state schooling.
"We are very happy that our child is attending Casa Mia Montessori. Our child has gain a tremendous amount of self confidence, since beginning as a 3 year old this year. The staff and parents made us feel part of the school community instantly. I would recommend Casa Mia to any parent considering this form of education for their child."
"Fantastic place for a 3 year old to gain there self confidence and learn to look after themselves. I would recommend Casa Mia to any parent who is interested in this philosophy of education. The teaching staff, administration staff and parents are very friendly and helpful. They made both my wife and I, plus our child feel a part of the school community instantly."
