It is such a delight to be the Music Specialist at Casa Mia Montessori! I feel privileged to be teaching this subject area. Being involved in Music sessions contributes to the student’s whole wellbeing – developing their self-confidence, self-esteem and self-image. Music impacts the cognitive development of students including their abstract thinking, aural and spatial awareness. The chance to work in a collaborative setting with peers occurs in most Music sessions, making it socially and simply, a great place to be. Oh, and the list of benefits goes on! Even the joy of singing a song together as a class can offer so much to both students and staff. I get to witness many a smile and giggle on Friday mornings and wear the reigning crown for conducting the loudest sessions in the school.  How lucky am I? Casa Mia is a special place, that I have witnessed grow and expand over my time at the school. It is an honour to be a part of this wonderful community of learners from playgroup through to the three cycles and to the staff.

With music, one’s whole future life is brightened. This is such a treasure in life that it helps us over many troubles and difficulties. Music is nourishment, a comforting elixir. Music multiplies all that is beautiful and of value in life.”
