My Montessori career began 14 years ago in Sri Lanka where I was a Kindergarten teacher. I completed my Montessori studies in 2008. What attracted me to the Montessori method of education is that it is a method that recognizes each child as an individual who learns at his or her own pace, a method which prepares a child for life.
When I moved to Australia, I worked at Little Things Montessori Day Care as a room leader for 4 ½ years. Following that, I joined Riverlands Montessori school as an education assistant for 5 years.
Here I am today with the privilege of being part of the Casa Mia community. I am looking forward to making more memories in supporting children in their learning journey and in helping them grow. I am grateful that this is the career path I have chosen.
My hobby is making scented candles, an activity that brings me peace and happiness. My other interests include listening to music, watching movies and spending time with my young nephew.
The child has a mind able to absorb knowledge. He has the power to teach himself.
